#Write31Days: Simplicity Anchored in the Gospel / by Rachel Nordgren

Hello, my fine friends! Welcome to October! I'm about as excited as this tiny corgi dancing around a tiny pumpkin for all things autumn...crunchy leaves, pumpkin spice all-the-things, the air so crisp it almost crackles, flannel and scarves and boots.

The arrival of October also means that

Write 31 Days

is HERE!

Despite the fact that I failed most epically at the Write 31 Days Challenge last year, I'm giving it another (much more organized + prepared) go this year. For the next 31 days straight, I'll be writing about simplicity that is anchored in the Gospel.

We'll get back to that in a second, though.

If this is your first time here, may I introduce myself? My name is Rachel Nordgren and I live in the Midwest with my husband Hans (like from Frozen, except he's nice and not from the Southern Isles) and Banjo, the 56 pounds of Australian Shepherd/Border Collie unconditional fluffy love that I brought into our marriage. You can read more about me here.

Write 31 Days: Simplicity Anchored in the Gospel Introduction

Hans and I have been married just over two years, and we've spent the better part of that time pursuing a simplicity together. At first it was just a knee-jerk reaction to clear our schedule or declutter here and there, but God began to show us how much MORE there is to simplicity.

He began to show us how simplicity truly begins inwardly and then overflows into our outward life. He showed us that being anchored in the Gospel - truly and deeply anchored - satisfies every desire and quells every fear that can complicate our lives. He showed us that humble simplicity can lead to abundant blessing.

We're trying to be as faithful as we can to what the Lord has been teaching us about simplicity, so we've decided to build a tiny house to live in full time. More on that later!

For the next 31 days, we're going to talk about simplifying YOUR life, home, schedule, etc., all through the lens of the Gospel. You can expect posts on that every day of the week, along with a free printable every Saturday and a simple, pretty (and pin-able!) quote every Sunday.

I also send out free goodies (along with a fun "coffee date" video chat, links to good things I've found around the internet, and sneak peaks!) on the first of every month to my lovely newsletter subscribers. The October one goes out later this afternoon, and I'd love to see you there!

Ready?! Let's DO this, friend!

I also wrote an 11-part series about simplicity that you can check out if you don't want to wait! It covers clothes, stress, stuff, home, schedule, etc.

What's something YOU would like me to write about in the next 31 days?
