2015 Goal Setting with the Lara Casey PowersSheets | Rachel Nordgren Hello, friends! Yes, I'm aware this post is titled "2015 Goals" and we are already 41 days into 2015. I am also aware that I do not give a flying flock of geese about it. I'd rather set intentional goals that take a few more weeks to come together than crank out a list of inch-deep ideas by 11:59 pm on December 31st.

What about you? Have you written off 2015 because it's already February? Is there a journal somewhere you started but tossed aside because you missed a day or two? Is there a sticky note with goals on it gathering dust on some lonely corner of your bathroom mirror?

It's never too late, friend. Go back and read that again. Are you alive? Of course you are! You're sitting here reading this post and there is air in your sweet lungs! It's not. too. late. We don't know how many days we have left on this earth, but I do know that we can make those days intentional.

January 1st

Alright? Alright.

I began each goal with "I will" instead of "I want", because it's more decisive and helps me visualize accomplishing all of these things! I also include the "why" of each goal, because goals without heart are just fancy ideas. There are verses that go along with each goal as well...all out of 1 Peter, because God has really been urging me to memorize an entire book of Scripture. More on that in a moment!

1. I will read through the Bible in 2015, because I want to know God more and need Him afresh every day!

"The Word of the LORD remains forever." // I Peter 1:25

2. I will memorize the book of I Peter, because I want to be a "woman of the Book" and have God's truth deeply rooted in my heart + mind.

"The Word of the LORD remains forever." // I Peter 1:25

3. I will loved + respect Hans and grow in relationship with him, because I want to honor God by honoring Hans, and I want our marriage to leave a legacy of the Gospel.

"Likewise, wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives, when they see your respectful and pure conduct." // I Peter 3:1-2

4. I will pursue financial responsibility with Hans, because our money belongs to God, and we need to be good stewards of it.

"As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another." // I Peter 4:10

5. I will lose BUST OFF at least 40 pounds of fat, because I want to feel confident in the strong + capable + beautiful body that God has given me, and live a long + healthy life with Hans.

"Live as a people who are free." // I Peter 2:16

6. I will lead my Influence Network Community Group with a humility, grace, and a Gospel-focus, because God is doing a beautiful work through the Influence Network, and I want to be invested in that community!

"You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a people for His own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; for once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy." // I Peter 2:9-10

7. I will create Gospel-centered, inspiring + practical content on my blog, because God has blessed me with a passion + platform, and I want to use my blog to glorify Him + encourage others.

"...you yourselves like living stones are being built up as a spiritual house." // I Peter 2:5

8. Goal I'm not ready to share on the internet yet!

No, I'm not pregnant.

9. Hans and I will create a home that is for the people we love, because God has blessed us with our home and we want to use it to build community and serve + refresh others.

"Show hospitality to one another." // I Peter 4:9

10. I will work hard at the Birth and Women's Center, because God has blessed me with this job and the income it provides to our family.

"Live as a people who are free." // I Peter 2:16

2015 Goal Setting

I used Lara Casey's PowerSheets and her Goal Setting Blog Series to think through and process these goals for myself. If you want to dig deep and give yourself traction for the year ahead, I strongly encourage both of those things! Jump in and join us!

Part 1: Good Things

Part 2: What Didn’t Work + What I Learned

Part 3: Saying Yes, Saying No

Part 4: Get Radical + Sing Loud

Part 5: Set Good Goals

Part 6: Purposeful Goals

You can find out more about the PowerSheets here. They'll be back in stock in March, and it's probably one of the best ways you could spend $35!

One of the things Lara has you do in the PowerSheets is create a vision board for your year ahead. I had such fun putting mine together old-school collage style with washi tape and some Better Homes and Gardens magazines I had lying around! Here's a peek...

2015 Goal Setting Inspiration Board

While pink rock salt has literally nothing to do with my goals for the year, I just liked the texture and pop of color. And I'm trying to add more texture/color to my life!

As always, friend, thank you for walking with me on this journey. This is going to be a good year.
